Overview
We are hiring a Business Insurance Sales Consultant to join our Affinity Sales team focused on building relationships with franchise owners and small business clients across national accounts. This is a high-impact consultative sales role where you will drive new business manage your own pipeline and deliver tailored commercial insurance solutions. The position includes a competitive base salary plus performance-based commission.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect develop and manage a pipeline of small business and franchise clients
- Conduct needs analysis and recommend appropriate commercial insurance solutions
- Schedule and lead client appointments to drive new business opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with franchise owners and internal partners
- Progress leads through the full sales cycle from prospecting to close
- Consistently meet or exceed individual sales goals and performance targets
- Stay current on commercial insurance products market trends and sales strategies
Required Qualifications
- Active Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license (Iowa or valid non-resident license)
- 23 years of commercial insurance sales experience (small business or commercial lines)
- Proven consultative sales experience with strong relationship-building skills
- Experience managing a sales pipeline including prospecting and closing new business
- Ability to work onsite in Urbandale IA at least 3 days per week
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling commercial insurance to small businesses or franchise clients
- Background in B2B insurance sales (brokerage agency MGA or carrier environment)
- Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales quotas
- Experience working with multi-location or franchise accounts
- Strong drive for business development and long-term client growth

Work Environment & Location
This is a hybrid role based in Urbandale Iowa requiring onsite work at least three days per week. Candidates should ideally be located within the Des Moines metro area (including West Des Moines Johnston Ankeny Clive Waukee Grimes and surrounding areas) or be willing to commute or relocate independently.
Licensing Requirement
An active Property & Casualty (P&C) license is required at the time of hire. Candidates must be licensed in Iowa or hold a valid non-resident authority to transact insurance in the state.
