Make a Difference Through Food Care and Community.
We are seeking a Cook who is passionate not only about food but also about creating a warm nourishing environment where students feel cared for supported and at home. At Chrysalis a therapeutic boarding school for adolescent girls we believe healing happens in everyday moments - including around the table.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve nutritious balanced and appealing meals for students and staff
- Follow established menus while contributing creative healthy ideas
- Accommodate dietary restrictions allergies and special needs
- Maintain aclean organized and safe kitchen environment
- Ensure compliance withfood safety and sanitation standards
- Support a positive team-oriented environment in collaboration with clinical and residential staff
- Occasionally involve students in appropriate kitchen or meal prep activities to build life skills
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Must hold a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
- Montana Food Handlers certification
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Must possess a valid State of Montana drivers license maintain a clean driving record and be able to drive for work-related purposes
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Experience preparing healthy meals and accommodating dietary restrictions
- Strong communication time management and organizational skills
- Positive attitude reliability and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be physically capable of performing essential job functions including crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques. Training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year experience in a residential or institutional setting
- Experience cooking for groups of 40 people
- Familiarity with youth care environments
