Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT) plus one year of licensed counseling experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides clinical assessment and treatment of clients with various mental health diagnoses substance use disorders medication-assisted treatment and high-risk patients in crisis.
  • Completes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments treatment plans screenings treatment via individual/family/group therapy as well as discharge plans for patients and families as needed.
  • Works on an interdisciplinary treatment team in order to provide thorough and comprehensive care as well as continuity of care and will prepare and send progress reports to the appropriate social service agencies and referral sources as required.
  • May assist in the acquisition of appropriate resources as needed.
  • May collect routine urine drug samples for labs and rapid assessment if required.
  • Works collaboratively with Peer Support Specialists Case Management and Care Coordination for patients with mental health and substance use disorders that may require additional support and coordination of services.

Position-Specific Details
Appointment Type:Probational Appointment or Job Appointment.

Compensation:This position is eligible for premium pay of $1.00/hour for hours worked performing direct patient care.
The following rates are Special Entrance Rates (SER) established for this agency in these job titles:
  • Professional Counselor 2: $21.27/hour minimum - $35.40/hour maximum
  • Professional Counselor 3: $22.76/hour minimum - $37.88/hour maximum
  • Professional Counselor 4: $24.35/hour minimum - $40.53/hour maximum

Career Progression:Professional Counselor 2Professional Counselor 3 or a Professional Counselor 4.

Location:Slidell Behavioral Health Clinic in Slidell Louisiana.
