Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

In this role you will:

  • Assist walk-in taxpayers in a timely fashion for business and individual income as well as accept prepared returns and payment including payments from special events.
  • Resolve taxpayer accounts utilizing knowledge of tax laws rules and regulations of all taxes administered by the Department of Revenue.
  • Independently processes assigned dormant account list and correspondence.
  • Research analyze and work dormant business taxpayer accounts.
  • Research and evaluate taxpayer information through various computer databases.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type:Probational Promotional Job Appointment Detail to Special Duty or WAE

Career Progression:This position may be filled as Revenue Tax Analyst 1 or 2.

Compensation:The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.


A Tax and Natural Disaster Clearance will be conducted on all selected applicants to validate the timely submission of tax returns and payments. It is a requirement that all Revenue employees must adhere to all tax laws of the State of Louisiana.


LA R.S.15:587.5 587.6 and the IRS require the Louisiana Department of Revenue to conduct a criminal history records check of a prospective employee who will access federal tax information to perform job duties. Any applicant who receives and accepts a conditional offer of employment will require a completed criminal history records check prior to his or her first day of work.
