The Department & Scientific Culture
You will join a high-performing Science faculty where Chemistry is a cornerstone of the academic curriculum with high uptake at both GCSE Triple Science and A-Level.

Core Responsibilities
Exemplary Instruction: Delivering high-challenge Chemistry lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE) with significant opportunities for A-Level Chemistry instruction for suitably qualified candidates.
Practical Leadership: Designing and executing rigorous laboratory investigationsfrom organic syntheses to advanced titrationsensuring students develop precise technical skills and a deep respect for the scientific method.
Conceptual Clarity: Demystifying complex theories including atomic structure chemical equilibrium redox reactions and the intricacies of organic mechanisms.
Data-Driven Success: Utilising the academys robust assessment framework to identify and bridge learning gaps ensuring all students are equipped to excel in their terminal examinations.
STEM Advocacy: Coordinating extra-curricular initiatives such as the RSC Chemistry Olympiad or local Science in the City projects to foster a culture of professional scientific ambition.
The Successful Candidate We are looking for a subject authority who is passionate about cultivating a culture of evidence-based thinking and intellectual curiosity. Requirements include:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong honours degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
Proven Track Record: Evidence of delivering exceptional learning outcomes at GCSE and A-Level with a deep understanding of AQA or OCR assessment objectives.
Instructional Precision: The ability to explain abstract chemical concepts with clarity and flair making the microscopic world tangible for students of all abilities.
