This is a full-time permanent leadership opportunity for an experienced practitioner ready to oversee a high-performing department and drive academic excellence across Biology Chemistry and Physics.

The Role

• Providing strategic leadership for the Science department ensuring the highest standards of teaching learning and student attainment across all Key Stages.

• Designing and overseeing a stimulating curriculum that challenges high-attaining pupils and prepares them for competitive university entries in STEM and Medicine.

• Mentoring and developing a large team of subject specialists and technicians fostering a culture of professional scholarship and collaborative planning.

• Overseeing the management of state-of-the-art laboratories and specialized equipment ensuring a safe and inspiring environment for practical experimentation.

• Monitoring student data with precision to implement effective interventions and maintain the schools track record of outstanding GCSE and A-Level results.

• Coordinating a rich co-curricular program including Science societies external Olympiads and university partnership projects.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and significant experience teaching in a high-standard independent or grammar school environment.

• A strong honors degree in Biology Chemistry or Physics; a post-graduate qualification (MA/MSc/PhD) is highly desirable.

• Proven leadership experience (e.g. Head of Subject or Second in Faculty) with a track record of achieving top-tier academic results.

• Exceptional organizational skills and a professional resilient approach to managing a complex departmental budget and team.

• A commitment to the holistic life of an independent school including contributions to the pastoral and co-curricular programs.

• Proficiency in modern digital learning platforms and performance analysis software.
