The Role

• Provide strategic leadership for the Geography department ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across all Key Stages.

• Oversee the design and implementation of a rigorous engaging curriculum for KS3 GCSE and A-Level.

• Mentor and support departmental staff conducting observations and facilitating professional development.

• Analyze student data to track progress and implement effective intervention strategies.

• Lead the departments fieldwork program ensuring students have access to high-quality learning outside the classroom.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven track record of teaching Geography at GCSE and A-Level.

• A degree in Geography or a closely related discipline.

• Previous experience in a leadership role (e.g. Lead Practitioner Second in Department) is highly desirable.

• A visionary approach to Geography education with a passion for sustainability and social justice.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to motivate a team to achieve excellence.
