Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Municipal Project Manager to lead the planning design and execution of municipal infrastructure and site development projects. This role requires strong technical expertise leadership capabilities and client relationship management skills. The ideal candidate will oversee multidisciplinary teams and ensure projects are delivered on schedule within budget and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee municipal infrastructure projects including water wastewater stormwater roadway site development and parks/recreation facilities
- Lead project planning engineering analysis and preparation of feasibility studies and basis of design reports
- Direct the preparation of preliminary and final engineering plans specifications and cost estimates
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients stakeholders and regulatory agencies
- Develop project scopes negotiate contracts and participate in client presentations and meetings
- Manage project schedules budgets staffing and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery
- Coordinate activities with subconsultants contractors utility agencies and permitting authorities
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal codes standards and permitting requirements
- Perform QA/QC reviews of engineering deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and constructability
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers EITs designers and CAD staff
- Support business development initiatives including proposal preparation and client relationship management
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
- Arizona Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Minimum 8 years of civil engineering experience including at least 3 years in project management
- Strong experience with municipal infrastructure projects including water sewer stormwater and roadway design
- Proficiency with Civil 3D and hydraulic/hydrology modeling software including HEC-HMS HEC-RAS SWMM WaterCAD SewerCAD and StormCAD
- Knowledge of municipal standards MAG specifications permitting processes and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects budgets schedules and technical teams
- Excellent communication leadership organizational and technical writing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Arizona municipalities and public agencies
- Strong client management and business development experience
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
