Job Description Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Cardiac IMC/Stepdown Unit assignment. This position requires a strong cardiac and telemetry background with experience managing intermediate acuity patients in a fast-paced hospital setting. Candidates must have prior travel experience as first-time travelers are not accepted for this unit.
The RN will care for cardiac IMC patients with a typical patient ratio of 1:4 and should be comfortable with telemetry monitoring cardiac drips respiratory support modalities and complex line management.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care for Cardiac IMC/Stepdown patients
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
- Manage cardiac drips and vasoactive medications according to unit protocols
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and respond to changes in patient condition
- Manage central lines PICC lines peripheral IVs and ports
- Administer blood products and IV therapies safely
- Care for patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP HFNC oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway management
- Participate in rapid response and emergency situations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and patient care coordination
- Maintain compliance with infection control and isolation precaution standards
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years recent IMC/PCU/Stepdown experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- First-time travelers will not be considered
- Strong cardiac telemetry and cardiac drip experience required
- Must be comfortable with a 1:4 patient ratio
- Epic charting experience required
- ACLS certification required
- Candidate must be willing to work night shifts
- Candidates residing in restricted Texas counties are not eligible for this assignment

Qualifications Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years recent IMC/PCU/Stepdown experience preferred
- Cardiac telemetry and intermediate care experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred
License:
- Active RN License required
- ACLS certification required
