This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center.
Under general supervision provides a variety of nursing services in a culturally sensitive manner to Adult and Child & Adolescent patients.
Responsibilities for the Registered Nurse Position:
- In a culturally sensitive manner provides nursing and other clinical services to SAMHC clients in all 3 centers (Spartanburg Union & Cherokee) including Medication Monitoring Medication Management Only injection and Clozaril clinics Triage and On Call. Serve as a mentor and preceptor for new Nursing Services staff. Serve as a Nursing Service resource for other center staff.
- Collaborate with others in Center satellites and/or community settings/departments to maximize nursing services resources for Child & Adolescent services Adult services and manage assigned MMO caseload by identifying nonclinical activities and working to utilize technology and non-clinical staff to streamline and organize nursing care.
- Meet QA and Corporate Compliance standards; adheres to policies and procedures including collaborative documentation and clinical notes signed within 48 hours of an appointment.
- Attend staff meetings supervisory conferences workshops and required staff development and training; assist in managing medication storage area as needed and promptly performs procedure ordered by physician/NP highlighting any abnormal results and promptly reporting to provider.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and related nursing experience.
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
- Health care or related experience. (example)
- Knowledge of nursing procedures personal hygiene basic health and safety practices basic human anatomy. (example)
Additional Comments
Post hire employees must:
- Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
- Have knowledge of nursing procedures personal hygiene basic health and safety practices basic human anatomy.
- Be able to operate state car.
- Perform all job duties and provide all services and documentation in compliance with CARF OMH CCMHC Quality Assurance Compliance HIPAA Transcultural and Productivity Standards Policies and Procedures.
