WHAT YOULL BE DOING
- Operate gas and/or electric forklifts safely and efficiently within the warehouse and production areas.
- Conduct daily forklift and equipment inspections in accordance with established safety procedures and report any issues promptly.
- Receive transport and stage raw materials and finished goods according to production and shipping schedules.
- Load and unload trailers containers and railcars while ensuring product integrity and accurate inventory handling.
- Verify pallet counts product identification and order accuracy prior to shipment or storage.
- Wrap label sort and secure pallets and inventory as required for storage or transportation.
- Maintain organized warehouse storage areas aisles and racks including consolidating partial pallets when necessary.
- Assist with inventory control through proper product rotation staging and documentation practices.
- Communicate equipment malfunctions maintenance needs and operational concerns to management and maintenance personnel in a timely manner.
- Follow all company safety policies procedures and PPE requirements while maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and all required documentation procedures.
- Support overall warehouse and plant operations by performing additional duties as assigned by management.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Forklift certification preferred
- Minimum of one year or more of related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY:
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to work well with all levels of employees whether individually or in a team environment
- Ability to perform basic math skills
- Effectively communicate questions problems and reports to co-workers supervisory and management personnel.
- Flexibility to accommodate unscheduled changes in duties and work overtime as needed.
- Must display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of personnel.
