Position Summary
Big Bend Community College (BBCC) a rural college serving vibrant culturally rich communities in the Columbia Basin of Central Washington invites applications for Associate Faculty positions in Nursing. This position is responsible to prepare and teach courses in a variety of healthcare areas and situations through lecture lab and clinical instruction to prepare Level I and Level II students for an Applied Science Degree in Nursing. This position reports to the Director of Health Education and works closely with the Allied Health Division Chair as well as other faculty and staff.

Compensation:Associate Faculty receive quarterly contracts. Payment is based on $1117.62 per lecture credit. May also include a combination of $1817.61 per lab credit/Nursing Clinical and/or $1400.94 per Nursing Campus Lab.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Prepare and teach assigned courses in accordance with the Master Course Outline and in consultation with a full-time faculty member.
- Meet the class times as required by the quarterly schedule in the required instructional modality.
- Assist students with questions related to the course(s) being taught.
- Maintain frequent communication with students.
- Refer students to appropriate college resources as needed.
- Maintain and submit grades and attendance reports to college personnel when required.
- Maintain student course materials for two (2) quarters beyond the quarter of attendance.
- Submit assessment data in consultation with a full-time faculty member in the department.
- Assist with development selection and/or recommend the selection of instructional materials for courses being taught.
- Post syllabi quarterly to the portal for each course taught.
- Schedule and hold a minimum of one office hour per week; online or face-to-face.
- Maintain an educational environment that promotes student learning and success.
Minimum & Desirable Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
At the time of application the candidate must possess the following:- Masters degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and from a nursing education program that is accredited by a nursing education accreditation body recognized by the United States Department of Education OR a bachelors degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and from a nursing education program that is accredited by a nursing education accreditation body recognized by the United States Department of Education with a graduate degree in a health or education-related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Candidates possessing a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in an MSN program or a graduate program in a health or education-related field at a regionally accredited college or university with completion expected by January 2027 will be considered.
- Current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in Washington State or be able to attain licensure prior to employment.
- At least two years of full-time equivalent experience as a registered nurse or nurse educator and evidence of maintenance of clinical skills in nursing particularly in medical and surgical areas.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:- Experience teaching at a community college within the previous three years.
- Experience working with non-traditional students.
- Experience using innovative teaching techniques.
