What you will be doing:
This position initiates and manages school capital project funding programs in the Facilities Section. Youll be forming relationships with design and facility management professionals throughout the state as you review elements of school plans to ensure we are producing high-performing educational facilities. The selected candidate will use their experience and research skills to analyze industry standards synthesize research and make recommendations for cost-effective school construction and school facility operations including development of criteria for the design construction and operation of public school facilities through guidelines handbooks briefing papers and other written documents. This position is at the leading edge evaluating capital improvement project (CIP) applications by participating in an annual ranking process of school capital needs and providing support training and outreach to school district personnel and industry organizations regarding the departments school capital funding programs and project execution requirements.Our organization mission and culture:

- Building and Construction: Knowledge of materials methods and the tools to construct objects structures and buildings.
- Cost Estimation and Analysis: Knowledge of the principles practices and methods used to determine estimate and analyze costs including determining life cycle costs application of cost models and evaluation of cost realism.
- Design: Knowledge of conceptualizing developing producing understanding and using plans models blueprints and maps including the use of tools and instruments to produce precision technical drawings working prototypes components or systems.
- Oral and Written Communication: Expresses information (for example ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example technical sensitive controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others attends to nonverbal cues and responds appropriately.
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible experience inarchitecture architectural engineering architectural drafting design cost estimating materials take-off or related work.
