Position Summary
The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage approximately 15 production associates across our 1st shift operations. Additionally they will ensure compliance with safety quality deliver cost and other daily plant standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of the production associates throughout the facility.
- Owns and actively participates in daily Gemba production walks and drives root cause countermeasures to ensure daily production goals.
- Drives and owns accuracy to production schedules and owns inventory accuracy at multiple levels of production.
- Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure that daily SQDC (safety quality delivery and cost) metrics are met.
- Develops training plans to meet safety regulatory and production requirements.
- Leads and participates on cross-functional quality improvement teams.
- Communicates standard operating procedures and plant rules to all production team members ensuring that they are implemented and strictly adhered to.
- Creates and sustains a safe work environment. Ensures all safety rules are followed. Maintains a safe and clean working environment for all associates and visitors.
- Use root cause analysis 5 why process and standard work to eliminate waste. Champion use of lean tools through involvement in kaizens and other process improvement activities.
- Leads and facilitates kaizen events and other continuous improvement projects as needed.
- Manages production overtime schedules. Manages direct reports attendance and payroll.
- Provides timely and constructive feedback to associates. Evaluates employee performance recommends areas for improvement and makes decisions involving employment wages and discipline.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skill Required
- Bachelors degree in related field or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience including previous experience in leadership. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of production operations and machinery.
- Excellent supervisory and leadership skills as well as verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines including the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite computers and related software to complete reports and logs. Proficiency with SAP and lean experience and/or certification is strongly preferred.
