Are you looking for a role where you can make a meaningful impact while supporting a vibrant and active senior community The City of Auburn is seeking a Senior Center Program Assistant to support daily operations and help deliver engaging programs and services at the Senior Center.
This is a great opportunity to join a supportive energetic team while assisting with a wide variety of senior programs at one of the best senior centers in the state. Youll play an important role in creating a welcoming environment for a community that sees nearly 200 participants each day.
Our Parks Arts and Recreation Department offers an incredible range of programs services and facilities for a city of Auburns sizeincluding a golf course museum teen center newly opened art center one of the states best farmers markets and even a theater in development. Youll be part of a team known for its dedication creativity and strong community impact.
We are seeking someone who is organized detail-oriented customer-focused and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with frequent public interaction. The ideal candidate is a team player who communicates well shows initiative and remains calm under pressure.
Primary Duties
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
Provide excellent customer service to Senior Center participants and the public including program registration using the ACTIVE system.
Perform receptionist duties such as answering multi-line phones greeting visitors and responding to questions about programs services and policies.
Assist Senior Center staff volunteers and instructors with scheduling planning and supporting activities such as excursions events speakers and day tours.
Perform clerical and administrative tasks including maintaining records processing payments and supporting daily operations.
Effectively engage and communicate with adults aged 50 to ensure a welcoming and supportive environment.
You will also support a variety of programs and special events that take place throughout the year helping ensure operations run smoothly and participants have a positive experience.
You will play a key role in the success of the Senior Center. Your ability to stay organized provide excellent customer service and manage multiple priorities will be essential in this fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Minimum Qualifications
WHAT YOU NEED:
Graduation from high school or equivalent; AND
One (1) year of related work experience; AND
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office are required.
You must obtain certification in Basic First Aid and CPR within six (6) months of employment.
You must obtain a King County Public Health Food Handlers Permit within one (1) month of employment.
WE WOULD LOVE IT IF YOU HAVE:- Experience working with or supporting senior citizen programs.
- Experience in customer service clerical or administrative support roles.
- Experience with recreation or registration software (such as ActiveNet/ACTIVE).
- Experience working in a senior center or community center environment.
- Experience coordinating volunteers or assisting with community-based programs.
- Ability to operate a 15-passenger van.
