Whats the job
This role is responsible to ensure high quality Work-Integrated learning for students through the provision of safe timely appropriate and sufficient community services placement experiences in line with curriculum requirements and industry accreditation requirements. This role has internal and external stakeholders and works as part of a national team. This role plays a crucial role in securing opportunities for counselling students by actively engaging with organisations in the field. Rather than relying solely on existing partnerships you will go out into the community to identify and build relationships with potential placement providers such as mental health clinics schools non-profit organisations and community support services. This involves networking attending industry events and communicating directly with employers to understand their needs and assess whether they can provide appropriate learning experiences for students. By being proactive and present in the field this will ensure a steady flow of quality placements that align with university requirements while also supporting students in gaining practical real-world counselling experience.

This is a permanent full-time position based in Surry Hills Sydney Campus.

Who you are:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in counselling or a related sector

  • Demonstrated understanding of dual-role responsibilities including counselling delivery and placement coordination

  • Strong knowledge of student placement processes and requirements

  • Familiarity with relevant management systems and administrative procedures

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and has committed to continuously strive for professional development.

  • Ability to work competently and harmoniously with colleagues and students of all cultures and backgrounds.

  • Computer literacy in appropriate discipline-specific and learning technologies as per business requirements.

  • High service ethos and work commitment.
