Departmental Analyst 9-P11
Position DescriptionThis position serves as the analyst responsible for CHAMPS and data warehouse reporting related to encounter and financial data. It conducts data extraction validation and analysis to evaluate completeness accuracy timeliness trends and anomalies across submitting entities. It applies analytical methods to large complex datasets to produce actionable insights that support reporting data quality monitoring rate setting and financial analysis. The role develops and executes queries and analytical processes for both routine and ad hoc reporting producing summaries to inform internal decision-making and departmental priorities. It also collaborates with internal MDHHS teams and external Medicaid Health Plans to clarify reporting logic interpret findings and resolve data quality issues ensuring consistent understanding and improving the reliability usability and integrity of encounter data used for operational financial and rate-setting purposes.

The physical location of this position is 400 S. Pine Lansing MI. Based on operational needs and within established limits remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.
Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense including:- A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
- A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
- Suitable lighting furniture and utilities.
