As a Personal Support Worker at Direct Care Australia you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals in need. This position is essential for enhancing the quality of life for our clients ensuring they receive the assistance required to maintain their independence and dignity.
Your contributions will directly impact the well-being of those you serve making this role both rewarding and significant within the social care sector.
We are particularly seeking workers who are available for morning shifts between 8:00am 12:00pm as these are the key service hours required to support our clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities including personal hygiene meal preparation and medication management.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
- Monitor and report changes in clients health and behaviour to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any observations made during visits.
- Supporting clients with complex or challenging behaviours.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and organisational policies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role or within the sector is preferred.
- A Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and their families.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and patient attitude towards clients.
- First aid and CPR certification is an advantage.
Location: The successful must be able and willing to travel to multiple suburbs in Adelaide.
