Job Summary
The MBTA is looking for a QA Analyst to perform Quality Assurance/Testing activities on a document compliance solution. This solution would allow controlled document and rule book distribution to field employees using iPad tablets and evolving to Android and Windows support. The QA Test Analyst will ensure the application meets business and compliance requirements across online/offline scenarios and will support future integrations with our corporate systems including learning management systems document management platforms and HR Systems. This role combines testing of mobile apps and web interface testing across platforms including role-based security validation pilot/UAT support and data/integration testing. Duties & Responsibilities
- Mobile & Functional Testing (iPad/iOS):Validatedocument access search annotations content pack downloads sync behavior caching performance and error handling under variable connectivity.
- Role-Based Access & Security: Test authentication/SSO role-based visibility creator/publisher/consumer permissions and acknowledgement workflows.
- Document Lifecycle & Compliance: Verify creation> approval> publication > distribution workflows; track version; confirm acknowledgements; ensure auditability and compliance metrics.
- Test Design & Execution: Author test plans test cases test data and regression suites. Execute smoke regression exploratory and end-to-end tests; document results and defects.
- Participate in Project Meetings: Cross functional team meetings defect triage lessons learned project and test planning etc.
- Pilot & UAT Support: Collaborate with business stakeholders to plan pilots prepare test scripts for field users triage issues verify fixes and provide rollout-readiness reports.
- Infrastructure & MDM Collaboration: Work with IT/MDM teams (e.g. Intune) on app deployment updates device compliance certificates VPN and proxy behaviors; reproduce issues.
- Integrations with enterprise systems: Test LMS linkages (acknowledgements> trainingrecords) SharePoint/DocuNetpublishing workflows version mapping and HRSystemfeeds as defined.
- Reporting & Quality Gates: Maintain requirements traceability thru tests and outcomes; contribute to test reports release notes go/no-go decisions; monitor key QA metrics (defect test coverage).
- Under the guidance of the QA Lead and collaboration with the Project Lead design and implement test system configurations in Comply365 (DocuNet PureIntel ProAuthor SafetyNet).
- Partner with IT for SSO integration interface support and data model alignment.
- LeveragePureIntelto design dashboards for tracking document access compliance usage trends
- Assist in defining testing scenarios conducting testing and validating business requirements.
- Act as an ambassador for both the product and the end userssupporting tech adoption surfacing practical insights and lead with empathy on reported issues.
- Coordinate with other project team members including contractors outreach staff and MBTA stakeholders.
This is a term-limited and project-specific contractor position that is not employed directly by the MBTA. This hybrid position requires being in the office at least two (2) days per week.Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelors degree from an accredited institution incomputerscommunications or relatedfield.
- 5 years in software QA with strong mobile/iPadOS testing experience.
- 5 years with QA toolsmethodologies and strong understanding of effective software testing models.
- Experience authoring test plans/cases and managing regression suites.
- Hands-on experience with offline-first testing and sync workflows.
- Familiarity with SSO and role-based access testing.
- Proficiency with test/defect management tools
- Ability to troubleshoot across application device network and integration layers.
- Experience supporting pilots/UAT and collaborating with non-technical field users.
- Experience working with Business Analysts and participating in requirements traceability and UAT.

Job Conditions:
