Purpose of Role

Castor Vali is seeking a commercially focused Business Development professional to support the growth of our Security Information Services (SIS) department. (Security Information Services - Castor Vali). This role will focus on developing new business opportunities and expanding client relationships for our intelligence-led products and services including but not limited to country risk subscription products market entry assessments deep dive project assessments due diligence investigations and related advisory solutions and research products.


Working closely with internal subject matter experts and senior leadership the successful candidate will engage prospective clients across Africa and international markets identifying opportunities where Castor Valis intelligence capabilities can support organisations operating in complex environments.


This is a business development and sales role where the ideal candidate will have and be able to build strong client relationships across sectors. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills strong proposal and tender writing skills commercial awareness and the ability to engage credibly with senior decision-makers. Particular preference will be given to candidates who have worked across African markets and who can demonstrate a strong track record of winning new business securing strategic partnerships and converting opportunities into revenue growth.


The role will involve proactive business development activities including outbound engagement lead generation account development and supporting broader strategic growth initiatives for the SIS department.

Role Objectives

  1. Assist with the developmentand implementationofa Security information ServicesAssist the Group Head SISto develop andimplement growth strategiesin line with theGroupstrategic objectives
  2. Drive Security Information Services sales and revenue Support the Security Information Services department and functions in line with Group targets and expectations.
  3. Identify business opportunities and key service line returns Work with the Group Head and Directors to capitalise on new and existing business opportunities including key focus areas.
  4. Support departmental marketing and brand awareness Help to drive the Security Information Services line brand through external sources with support from the CCO and Group Head SIS
  5. Manage key strategic partners and relations Identify develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to protect and grow corporate business lines.
  6. Achieve sustainable recurrent Security Information Service revenue streams to provide a platform for long term success Identify and target key revenue silos within Security Information Services that provide long term revenue streams.

Key Result Expectations

  • Achieving and exceeding individual sales revenue and business development targets.
  • Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities across target sectors and markets.
  • Securing new clients strategic partnerships and repeat business through proactive relationship management.
  • Leading and contributing to successful proposals tenders and commercial negotiations that result in new revenue generation.
  • Delivering accurate sales forecasting market insights and commercially focused recommendations that support business growth and profitability.
  • Maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and minimising escalated client issues through responsive stakeholder engagement.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities early to minimise lost revenue and maximise conversion outcomes.
  • Ensuring all Salesforce activities opportunities pipeline updates and client engagement records are accurate and up to date.


Skills Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development
  • Proven track record of supporting sales targets and driving business growth
  • Experience in the wider Africa region is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
  • Excellent writing skills with experience in proposal and tender writing
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Knowledge of the security industry and its market dynamics.
  • Highly motivated results-driven and proactive.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
