Job Summary
The ECS Extended School Year (ESY) Parapeducator/PCA plays a critical role in the success of our special education population. This support role reports directly to the ESY Teacher.
ECS will be providing n inclusive camp experience as a part of our Extended School Year (ESY) programming for our K-5 and 6-11 students. The Paraeducator/PCA will partner with our teachers to provide fun programming in conjunction with ECS staff providing services to students around their academic social and/or emotional IEP goals.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing students IEP and talk to current teachers about strengths and needs (review PCA guide)
- Following schedule provided and support students assigned throughout the day
- Consulting with teachers and YMCA camps staff to create adapt or scaffold materials as necessary (i.e. visual schedule breaks reward time adapted academic work)
- Providing support for students to be on task complete work and participate in activities
- Providing support to meet students functional needs if necessary (i.e. toileting hygiene challenging physical tasks)
- Filling out parent communication logs as needed
- Collect data on designated IEP goals
- Attend one planning session before the start of Extended School Year (ESY)

Clearances current within one year will be required and include Arrest & Conviction Disclosure Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151) Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Clearance (Act 114) and FBI Criminal Background Check. Commonwealth of PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168) and Mandated Reporter training also will be required.
