Course Description:

Introduction to the construction of character and dramatic action.

THÈME: Corporeal poetics
Development of theatrical physical vocabulary through real world observation replication and enactment leading to character construction based in the Lecoq technique. Introduction to the actors use of body tension rhythm and tempo for effective stage presence and corporeal poetics.

DELIVERY MODE: In person

This course will preferably be taught by the same professor as THE1130-Scenes/Studies I

Requirements:

1. Five years of experience teaching acting at the post-secondary level and/or five years of recent and significant professional acting or directing experience related to the course theme. 2. Knowledge of contemporary national and international theatre trends.

Based on Basic Rate for a 3-credit course ($9 956).
