Building Services Supervisor

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at Burlington House a historic landmark in the heart of London as our Building Services Supervisor. This is a hands-on leadership role at the centre of a busy prestigious venue overseeing day-to-day building operations and supporting a wide range of events and activities.
About the role
Oversee the efficient day-to-day running of Burlington House including plant equipment maintenance reception mail and security
Manage up to two direct reports and deputise for the Facilities & Estates Manager as needed
Work closely with the Hospitality team to deliver seamless internal and external events including room set-up AV support and reception cover at The Chemistry Centre
Source commission and supervise contractors on site ensuring compliance with safe working procedures
Act as Local Health & Safety Officer maintaining risk assessments fire safety compliance CCTV operations and evacuation planning
Organise and manage rotas across a 3-person team providing building cover from 8am10:30pm
Occasional travel to Cambridge (Thomas Graham House) required
This role requires flexibility including early starts late evenings and participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota as a keyholder. On a rare occasion you will be required to work over weekends
What were looking for
Proven supervisory or team-leader experience in building services facilities or a similar operational environment
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including risk assessments COSHH and fire safety compliance
Experience managing contractors and overseeing planned preventative maintenance schedules
Excellent communication and people management skills with a calm and decisive approach under pressure
Good IT proficiency including Microsoft Office and the ability to support AV/IT setups at events
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage rotas and balance competing operational priorities
