Overview of the Position

The Head of People & Culture is a key member of theleadership team responsible foroverseeing and drivingthe organisations people strategy and fostering a strong values-based culture. The role ensures the effective delivery of people culture and safety functions to support organisational performance compliance and long-term sustainability.

The Role

TheHead of People & Culturereportsdirectly tothe Chief Sustainability and Strategy Officerand indirectly to the CEO on strategic workforce initiatives and safety. This is afull-timepermanentpositionbasedin Bentley.

Responsibilities:

As aHead of People & Cultureyou willbe responsible for:

  • Providing strong leadership coaching and development to the People & Culture team and building linemanagerscapability to effectively manage and resolve workforce matters.
  • Delivering highquality endtoend HR services including strategic review of HR strategy and policies and expert advice across the employee lifecycle workforce planning and organisational capability.
  • Applying a commercial riskinformed approach to workforce matters including WHS ER/IR and broader people management to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Leading and supporting change and workforce initiatives that drive organisational growth and sustainable outcomes with a focus on diversity inclusion engagement employee experience and service delivery.
  • Monitoring and analysing safety performance and workplace incidentsidentifyingtrends and risks and overseeing workers compensation and injury management processes.
  • Building andmaintainingstrong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and the broader community consistently modelling WA Blue Skyvaluesand contributing to a safe work environment.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Degree in Human Resources Industrial Relations or equivalent from an accredited institution. A candidate with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role instead of qualifications would be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role within a human resources function ideally within a not-for-profit or community-focused organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and managing people resources and budgets.
  • Proven leadership capability with the ability to influence and drive organisational outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while interpreting and applying legislation industrial instruments and contractual obligations.
  • Ability to manage and negotiate complex and sensitive stakeholder relationshipsmaintainingconfidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong working knowledge of Work Health and Safety and Workers Compensation frameworks.
  • Ability to interpret analyse and present workforce data and insights using organisational systems.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to problem-solving risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience with HR information systems (HRIS).

Desirable

  • 3 to 5 years in a senior leadership role ideally within a complex human services environment.
  • Postgraduate qualifications ordemonstratedachievementsindrivingstrategic HR safety and industrial relations learning and development capability building culture and values initiatives leadershipdevelopmentand workforce planning.
