Purpose of Job
The purpose of this position is to perform supervisory administrative technical and manual functions related to the collection analysis and management of water consumption data customer billing and maintenance of the customer portal associated with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). This role is responsible for oversight and analysis of AMI meter reads data transfers and all meter reading exception reports including but not limited to leak alerts non-communicating meters stopped or zero reads consumption variances and potential backflow events as well as customer notification.
Duties include supervising and participating in the maintenance and troubleshooting of AMI/Neptune software; responding to customer inquiries and complaints related to leaks high bills historical consumption and portal usage; managing customer data files; supervising assigned staff; and performing additional tasks as assigned.
Job-Related Requirements
Work Schedule: Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Wednesday 8:00 am 6:00 pm with occasional overtime.
May be required to work on religious holidays.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Must work cooperatively with others.

Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing high-quality customer service.

Associates Degree in Accounting Business Computer Science Statistics or related discipline with three (3) years billing/accounts receivable data management computer operations statistics or related experience required or any combination of education training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge skills and abilities for this job.
Two (2) years of experience involving AMI water system or any equivalent combination of education training and experience that provides the requisite knowledge skills and abilities for this position is preferred.
Valid Drivers License required.
One year of supervisory experience or supervisory equivalency required.
Customer service experience preferred.
Essential Duties Responsibilities

- Supervises and evaluates assigned staff; assigns work; monitors performance; and addresses employee concerns.
- Manages the transfer and validation of meter reading data from the AMI system to the billing system.
- Oversees meter change-outs and ensures billing records are updated accurately to maintain billing continuity.
- Monitors analyzes and manages all AMI meter reading exception reports including but not limited to leak alerts non-communicating meters stopped or zero reads and abnormal consumption variances.
- Processes leak adjustments and investigates abnormal water usage to ensure accurate billing and resolution.
- Acts as the Water Business Offices liaison for AMI system troubleshooting maintenance and upgrades.
- Collects analyzes and maintains water usage data to support operational planning system evaluation and water loss detection efforts.
- Responds to customer concerns regarding billing water usage leaks pressure issues and customer portal access.
- Ensures the accuracy and integrity of customer accounts meter identification and billing records.
- Supports the development and implementation of AMI-based conservation programs and water loss detection protocols.
- Maintains accurate daily activity records prepares reports and participates in system upgrades and quality control initiatives.
- Performs other related duties as required.
