Classification Level: 6 ($56.01 to $58.49 per hour)
The Support Worker Services (SWS) team facilitates a range of NDIS-funded supports and services for people living with disabilities (i.e. participants). This may include:
- Recruitment and maintenance of a pool of suitable Support Workers
- Matching participants supported by Kyabra with appropriate Support Workers
- Communicating with participants (and their support networks) regarding their NDIS support plans and related goals while ensuring high quality support is provided and
- Supporting Support Workers to work alongside participants (and their support networks) towards implementing their NDIS support plan and related goals.
The Manager Support Worker Services will lead the team in all aspects of day-to-day operations as well as provide support and line supervision to team members. This will involve both centre-based and outreach functions in collaboration with a range of agency and community resources/services.
This role will act as a key member of the Service Management Team and will also be expected to participate in the Organisational Management Team on a rotational basis. Availability for an on-call (after-hours) roster is also required whilst in this position.
This is a fixed-term contract to cover a period of extended leave.
Hours of Work
Applicants with the capacity to work full-time hours (76h 00m per fortnight) are preferred however applicants with part-time availability will be considered. Part-time applicants must be available to work a minimum of 45h 36m per fortnight.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualifications & Training
- Tertiary qualification (bachelors degree or higher) in human services and/or another relevant field.
Skills Knowledge & Experience
- Demonstrated experience working in community services particularly in the disability services sector i.e. working alongside people with a disability and their support networks.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in the management of a human service program including staff management administration and financial management.
- Knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards and National Disability Insurance Scheme Act (2013) and/or other relevant legislation within the human/community services sector.
- Knowledge of Social Role Valorisation principles and a demonstrated ability to utilise these in practice.
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of client-centred and solution-focused approaches to service delivery and development.
- Understanding of and commitment to the principles of social justice as well as a demonstrated capacity to work in ways that focus on peoples strengths.
- Strong communication interpersonal and organisational skills and a collaborative approach to management.
History Checks & Clearances
This position is required to hold a current/satisfactory/positive result for the following:
- Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- LCS2 (Personal and Criminal History Check)
- NDIS Worker Screening
- Open drivers license (Queensland).
Note it is an offence for a disqualified person to sign off on a Blue Card application form.
Desirable
- Experience working within the NDIS including knowledge of pricing arrangements and limits.
- Experience working with diverse groups while facilitating effective group discussion and consultation processes.
