HK$63338 to HK$88333 per month (HGPS Point 26 to 33A) including Monthly Allowance Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance. | |
Key Responsibilities: | |
I. | Primary Duties |
In addition to the role and responsibilities as Genetic Counsellor it is required to lead the genetic counselling service; develop professional genetic counselling standard care protocol and coordinate of clinical pathways liaise with HAHO with the development of genetic service in the cluster; participate in the planning implementation and evaluation of pre- and post-test genetic counselling service; and supervise & train the genetic counselling team in advanced genetic counselling training; as well as perform other duties as assigned by the supervisors. | |

1. | Build rapport and obtain informed consent. |
2. | Risk assessment based on medical and family history. |
3. | Identify and arrange tests. |
4. | Discuss psychosocial impact and promote adaptation. |
5. | General and special referral to clinical care. |
6. | Extended duties (e.g. contribute to research organise educational activities). |
Entry Requirements: | |
1. | Bachelors degree with related professional qualification such as genetic counsellor nurse social worker psychologist medical laboratory technologist biomedical scientist or equivalent. |
2. | Three years of full-time experience in genetic counselling nursing service psychology medical laboratory service biomedical science or equivalent. |
Preferred Attributes / Exposure: | |
1. | Postgraduate qualification in genetic counselling or related discipline. |
2. | Certification/ Qualification/ Registration by relevant professional body/ board as a genetic counsellor. |
3. | Experience in supervisory role. |
4. | Fluency in written/ spoken Chinese and English. |
5. | Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and their families. |
6. | Experience in clinical research and auditing of services |
