The Cell Biology R&D Co-op for Cytiva will be responsible for evaluating the biological activity of lipid nanoparticles in cell-based assays. They will design and perform experiments (with input from supervisor) to support internal research and product development projects.

This position is part of the Cytiva Nanomedicine R&D team located in Vancouver B.C. and will be on-site. At Cytiva our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What will you do:

  • Support the development of novel lipid nanoparticles by evaluating biological activity within cell-based assays.
  • Assist in the routine care and maintenance of various cell culture systems.
  • Perform routine validation studies and development of new cell-based assays.
  • Prepare experimental plans reports and technical presentations.

Who are you:

  • Currently enrolled in a BSc program in Molecular Biology Biochemistry Biology Applied Science Biotechnology Chemistry Nano- or Bio-Engineering or a related Life Sciences program.
  • Experience in a laboratory environment and completion of at least one previous co-op assignment.
  • Experience with cell culture techniques and cell-based assays

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience with primary cells and nucleic acids
  • Experience with cell and molecular biology techniques such as flow cytometry western blot and ELISA

The annual salary range for this role is 40k-50k CAD/year This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
