Job Summary
Summary of Position
The Manufacturing Intern will support the organization and standardization of critical manufacturing documentation by creating a comprehensive binder (physical and/or digital) that consolidates procedures standards and records related to safety quality and productivity. This role will work closely with operations engineering and quality teams to ensure accurate accessible and up-to-date information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect review and organize documentation related to safety procedures quality standards and productivity metrics
- Develop a structured binder and/or digital repository with clear sections indexing and version control
- Identify missing outdated or inconsistent documents and coordinate updates with appropriate teams
- Standardize document formats naming conventions and revision tracking processes
- Assist in creating or updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) work instructions and visual aids
- Support the development of process flow diagrams and documentation tools
- Ensure documentation aligns with internal standards and applicable regulations (e.g. OSHA ISO)
- Participate in shop floor walkthroughs to validate documentation accuracy against actual operations
- Support continuous improvement efforts by documenting best practices and process enhancements
- Present final documentation structure and recommendations for ongoing maintenance

Education and/or Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering Manufacturing Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles (preferred)
- Exposure to quality systems such as ISO 9001 or Six Sigma (preferred)

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds independently and participate in team lifts of approximately 60 pounds as required for essential production tasks.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position or move throughout the production floor for extended periods (for the duration of the shift up to 8 hours per shift).
- Must be able to operate position adjust or move equipment tools or materials necessary for production processes.
- Capable of performing consistent manual production tasks over long shifts.
- Must be able to work in typical manufacturing environmental conditions including areas requiring PPE exposure to noise and temperature variation.
