About the Program
The primaryobjectiveof the Family Preservation Program is to keepchildren safe at home with their families and prevent removal placement in out of home care and future contact with the child protection system. Family preservation also supports children and families to achieve wider social benefits includingbetter education attainment and improved health and wellbeing outcomes.
FamiliesTogetherisa frameworkwithin this program. It is voluntary and aims to build on a familys strengthsand capabilities to respond to theirchildrensneeds and to create a safe Veritas House we will bedeliveringa range ofsupportswithin this framework to promote parenting skills family functioning child development as well as practicalsupportto help create asafehome environment.
About the role
We are inviting applicants for an experienced and driven Team Leader to play the crucial role in the design and implementation of of the Families together program this role you will provide day-to-day leadership and support to the Senior Practitioner and widerfamilies togetherteam delivering early intervention services to families experiencing challenges. You will be responsible forensuring high-quality consistent service delivery that supports child safety strengthens family functioning and promotes positive outcomes for children and young people.
Working closely with staff families and partner services you will foster anenvironment that is reflective responsive and grounded in community needs. This includes supporting your team to engage effectively with families from diverse backgrounds and ensuring service approachesremainaccessible respectful andoutcome focused.
Some of your core responsibilities will include;
- Lead supervise and develop a team delivering family preservation services including reflective supervision and coaching.
- Oversee complex case management supporting staff to assess risk engage families and achieve child safety outcomes
- Manage caseload allocation and workflow to ensure timely consistent and high-quality service delivery
- Monitor case plans reviews and interventions to drive measurable improvements in family functioning and wellbeing
- Ensure compliance with organisational legislative and funding requirements including accurate documentation and reporting
- Contribute to the development and implementation of program logic ensuring service delivery aligns with evidence-informed practice and intended outcomes
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with child protection community services and key stakeholders
- Track program performance contribute to reporting and evaluation and support continuous improvement and service development

About you
You are an empathetic and capable leader with strong experience in youth homelessness or community services. You thrive in sometimes complex environments and can balance operational coordination staff support and direct client work.
As part of our selection criteria our ideal candidate will bring;
- MinimumDiploma level qualifications in Community Services Youth Work or similar along with experience working with youth and families in a community services environment.
- Minimumof 3years experienceleading supervising and supportingteams within a family support child protection or related humanservices setting including providing reflective supervision performancefeedbackand support.
- Strong understanding of trauma and its impact on the development andbehaviourof children and young people with the ability to support teams through complex andsensitivecases.
- Highly developedcommunication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead with empathy manage difficult conversations and influence positive practice and cultural outcomes within a team.
- Proven ability to assess manage and respond to risk and complexity in child and family work balancing child safety family engagement andorganisationalaccountabilityalong with holdinga complexcaseload.
- Experience working effectively with statutory child protectionpartners other key stakeholders including managing professionaldifferenceswhilemaintaininga childand familyfocus and collaborativeapproach.
- High levelof writtenverbaland computer-based communication skills including the use of data and case management reporting portals.
Desirable
-Experience leading teams through service changedesigning and implementingnew practiceframeworksor program development.
-Knowledge of NSW child protection legislation policy frameworks or funded family preservation programs.
