Opportunity
e-Zinc is searching for an experienced and talentedPrincipal EngineerTesting & Analysisto lead the execution planning and continuous improvement of battery and system-level testingand analysisacross our zinc-air energy storage to theVP Research & Development this role willplay a critical role in the product development testing and analysis. The ideal candidate brings a strong balance of hands-on testing experience and leadership capability with a focus on validationand supporting product readiness for deployment and will work closely withtechnology (R&D)productengineeringandother departments to ensure testing activities align with product goals and commercialization timelines.
PositionScope andResponsibilities
Lab Operations & Ownership
- Own and manage the battery testing lab including test stations equipment and infrastructure.
- Ensure high uptime throughpreventive maintenance calibration and troubleshooting
- Manage inventory of test materials consumables and battery samples.
- Enforce and continuously improve lab safety protocols and bestpractices.
- Ensure high data quality repeatability and statistical rigor in all testing activities
Testing Strategy & Execution
- Develop implement and continuously improvetestmethods procedures and protocolsfor cell pack and system-level validation& testing.
- Support and leadtheexecution ofvarious testing plansat all levels ofdevelopment ensuring alignment withtestingobjectives.
- Analyze large and complex data sets to extract actionable insights.
- Supportassembly and build activitiesby ensuring test readiness and validation during prototype and system integration phases
Data Reporting & Quality
- Overseedata collection analysis and reporting ensuring accuracy consistency and traceability
- Establishbest practices and standardize data processingvisualizationand reporting formats to communicate results clearly to cross-functionalteams
- Manage test data systems and tools to enable efficient data retrieval and decision-making
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Lead structured problem-solving efforts using methodologies such as8D root cause analysis and Six Sigma tools
- Identifysystem and process issues through testing and drive corrective actions
- Continuously improve testing efficiency automation and repeatability
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor and develop a team of test engineers technicians and interns
- Manage workload scheduling and prioritization of testing activities
- Build a culture ofaccountability collaboration and hands-on problem solving
- Service as the SME in experimental methods diagnostics (cell packs system) andfailuremechanisms.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner withR&D andproductworkstreamsto align testing with product development and production goals.
- Support transition fromengineering validation to manufacturing and deployment
- Provide feedback to design teams based on test results and field learningsto inform design and development decisions.
Qualifications
- MinimumBachelors degree in Electrical Mechanical Materials or Chemical Engineering (or relevant discipline withinEngineeringor Science).
- 10years of experience inbattery or electro-mechanical system testingand data analysis includingcellpackand/or system-level validation.
- Proven experience inlab operations test execution and team leadership
- Experience withFactory Acceptance Testing (FAT)and product validation processes
- Strong hands-on experience withtest equipment instrumentation and troubleshooting
- Proficiencyindata acquisition analysis and reporting tools( MATLAB)
- Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 8D Six Sigma)
- Familiarity withhigh-reliability testing environments(e.g. automotive medical industrial)
- Strong understanding ofbattery safety standards and testing best practices
- Strong communicationskills

Compensation & Total Rewards:
The expected annual salary range for this role is$120-140K.Final compensation will bedeterminedbased on the candidates skills experience and overall fit for the position.
