Marathon Petroleum Companys Kenai Refinery is seeking a highly motivated Instrument Technician to join our team. Instrument Technicians are responsible for the maintenance and construction of instrument systems devices and peripheral equipment. Instrument Technicians are directly responsible for troubleshooting problem identification and repair of instruments used in the refinery process control.
Key Responsibilities
Instrument Technicians must have the ability to install calibrate troubleshoot repair and tune switches regulators control valves transducers positioners transmitters annunciators and controllers and be able to read PIDs and loop drawings. Other primary responsibilities include:
- Install calibrate troubleshoot and repair switches (level pressure temperature and flow).
- Install troubleshoot and repair control valves and regulators.
- Install calibrate troubleshoot and repair transducers and valve positioners electronic and pneumatic transmitters.
- Troubleshoot and repair annunciator systems.
- Install calibrate troubleshoot repair and tune electronic and pneumatic controls and programmable controllers.
- Interfaces with operators for working in their units with the warehouse for withdrawal of parts other maintenance shops as required as well as with the lab personnel and Process Engineers.
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience Requirements
- Three (3) years of instrument experience in a petrochemical environment.
- Associates degree of applied science in Instrumentation or equivalent certificate in the instrumentation trade.
- Or (5) years On the Job instrumentation experience.
