Job Summary

The School of Applied Psychology is a national leader in psychological and healthrelated education known for award winning teaching and professionally accredited programs. It specialises in psychology counselling suicidology and health services management with a strong emphasis on practical skill-based learning. Students are trained to apply evidence-based knowledge across diverse professional settings preparing them to support individuals facing personal social vocational or health challenges and to lead initiatives within the broader health sector.

As a Lecturer (Level B) in Applied Psychology you will play a key role in shaping exceptional learning experiences and contributing to a vibrant student-centred academic community. You will support high quality teaching course leadership and the ongoing enhancement of educational practice.

As a Lecturer (Teaching Focused) you will:

  • Lead studentcentred learning through engaging authentic and technology enhanced teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
  • Coordinate courses and programs ensuring high quality delivery assessment and academic support.
  • Build positive staff student relationships that reflect respect inclusion and professionalism.
  • Strengthen industry and community engagement to enhance employability and work integrated learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning through reflective practice innovation and evidence based educational enhancement.

This is a fixed term (3 year) 40% part-time position primarily based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site university you may be required to work across other locations.

Griffith Universitys sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul Yuggera Jagera Turrbal Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Level B range $117076 - $139031 per annum 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $136979 - $162667 per annum.


Qualifications :

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A PhD in psychology or a related field and a strong commitment to teaching excellence. Registration as a psychologist in Australia with AHPRA is optional and not mandatory. 
  • Experience delivering high quality tertiary teaching including technology enhanced and authentic assessment practices.
  • Capability to coordinate courses and manage academic administration effectively.
  • A record of scholarly or professional activity that informs innovative evidence-based teaching.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills that support positive learning environments and uphold university values.
