We are seeking a Structural Engineer with deep knowledge of steel standards welding bolted joints and analytical modeling tools to join our expanding engineering group.
Position Summary
The Structural Engineer will perform structural analysis develop engineered designs and support the integration of structural steel welded systems mechanical interfaces and modular structures. This role requires extensive knowledge of structural steel design standards weld engineering bolted connections fastener selection and quantitative load analysis. You will coordinate with engineering fabrication and field teams to ensure safe codecompliant and fabricationready designs.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Engineering & Technical Design
  • Perform structural analysis framing design load path development and engineered calculations for steel structures support frames and mechanicalstructural assemblies consistent with services such as structural analysis framing plans and building design.
  • Develop detailed 2D/3D models layout drawings structural plans and fabrication documents.
  • Apply relevant industry standards (AISC ASCE AWS and applicable building codes) and adhere to quality management expectations similar to AISC QMS certification programs.
  • Design and analyze mechanical fastener systems including highstrength bolted connections torque/tension criteria and joint evaluation.
  • Engineer welded components specifying weld types sizes procedures and quality requirements consistent with advanced welding engineering principles recognized by AWS CWEng certification.
Welding Fabrication & Quality Control
  • Develop or review welding details procedures and inspection requirements following industrystandard welding practices and quality expectations.
  • Support fabrication with weld engineering knowledge inspection criteria and QA/QC validation methods aligned with AWS welding engineering competencies.
  • Assess manufacturability structural integrity and weld performance across frames platforms and steel assemblies.
Load Studies & Analytical Tools
  • Use structural engineering analysis software tools (e.g. structural modeling FEA platforms load simulation tools) to evaluate structural steel performance under gravity wind seismic mechanical and dynamic loads.
  • Apply analytical practices consistent with top-tier structural engineering certification standards including advanced structural systems analysis and integration principles highlighted by SECB and SE licensing pathways.
Project Execution & Collaboration
  • Coordinate with engineers from all disciplines to ensure mechanicalstructural interfaces meet fit function and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with fabrication teams construction leads and inspectors to ensure compliance with design intent.
  • Participate in project meetings design reviews site visits and installation support.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering Civil Engineering (Structural focus) Mechanical Engineering with structural emphasis or related field.
  • Proficiency with CAD/3D modeling tools (e.g. SolidWorks Revit AutoCAD).
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Structural steel design standards (AISC).
    • Bolted joint systems fastener selection and structural connection design.
    • Welding processes quality control and procedures as reflected in AWS welding engineering competencies.
    • Load analysis tools structural modeling and FEA.
  • Ability to create complete structural drawing packages including plans details schedules and specifications.
  • Excellent problemsolving analytical and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensure or pursuit of PE or SE credentialsrecognized pathways in structural engineering.
  • Certifications such as:
    • SECB Certification (Structural Engineering Certification Board).
    • AWS Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) for advanced welding competency.
    • AISC Certification familiarity for structural steel quality systems.
  • Experience with modular structures industrial equipment supports or integrated mechanicalstructural systems.
  • Familiarity with construction practices materials testing and inspection services
