The opportunity

As a Senior Associate in our US State and Local Tax (SALT) practiceyoullwork alongside and learn from experienced subject matter experts through on-the-job coaching and mentoring. You will focus on delivering consulting and advisory services to clients on various US state and local tax matters including tax planning compliance and strategy helping businessesoptimizetheir tax positions and navigate complex business issues through strategy to execution.

  • Support state tax advisory engagementssuch as nexus analyses voluntary disclosures sales tax analysisacross a variety of industries with a focus on practical well-supported recommendations.

  • Support US SALT due diligenceon potential acquisitionsand transaction-related projectssuch as restructuring.

  • Use feedback and reflection to develop self-awarenessleveragepersonalstrengthsand address development areas.

  • Proactively manage day-to-day workstreams for multiple engagements communicating status risks and next steps to Managers and above.

  • Build andmaintaineffective working relationships with client stakeholders through responsive communication professionalismand attention to detail.

  • Coach and review the work of junior team memberscontributingto a collaborative inclusive team environment.

  • Stay current on state and local tax developments and proactively share relevantinsights with the team.

  • Participate inbusiness developmentefforts byhelpingidentifyopportunitiesfornew/existing clientsand supporting proposals.

  • Uphold the firms code of ethics and business conduct.

Whatyoullbring

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or an equivalent degree.

  • 2-3 years of prior experience in US tax.

  • Experience with US state and local tax is preferred but notrequired.

  • US inbound (cross-border tax) experience is an asset.

  • Demonstrated interest in AI and emerging technologies is considered an asset.

  • Experience with AI-enabled tools (e.g. Copilot Harvey or similar) is an asset.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to synthesize complex rules and facts into clear conclusions.

  • Ability to manage priorities across multiple engagementsanddeadlinesin a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills anddemonstratedability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Experience withOneSourcetax preparation software is desirablebut notrequired.

  • Strong technology skills includingproficiencywith Microsoft Officeand tax research tools.

The salary range for this position is $58400 - $97500. The posted salary rangerepresentsthe expected hiring range for PwC locations in major citycenters. Given our national recruiting approach ranges may vary for positions in other locations.
