Job Summary

Few people get to build a bank from scratch. Even fewer get to build one at a moment when banking itself is being reinvented.


The dollar is the best product in the history of the world with practically infinite global demand but distribution is broken. Global clearing runs on legacy banks that are closed 115 days a year built for humans and take two days to settle. Augustus is the update to the internet era. We received conditional approval from the OCC to charter Americas first stablecoin-native clearing bank that is always open made for machines at the speed of compute.


We are a group of operators unicorn early employees ex-founders and people who walked away from degrees because they believe this is an industry and career defining opportunity. Were backed with $40M from Peter Thiels Valar Ventures Creandum and founders of Ramp Deel and Circle.


We are regulated in Europe and live with Euro and Stablecoin clearing today. Now we are building the US team from the ground up while continuing to grow rapidly in Europe.

The Role

Our USA Regulatory Compliance team ensures Augustus programmable banking rails outpace the speed of modern finance without breaking. You will work directly with our Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Risk Officer to translate complex federal and state statutes into scalable code and airtight controls. Your mission is to turn compliance from a bottleneck into a competitive advantage giving our growth product and engineering teams the confidence to deploy products that are both boundary-pushing and fully covered.

Youll navigate the complexity of US banking laws and consumer protection regulations to translate them into clean automated code and scalable processes. You decide how we manage risk without killing product velocity. Youll build the systems that ensure every product service account and transaction is compliant at scale moving us from manual oversight to real-time algorithmic governance.

Success means Augustus is the gold standard. You will build a compliance engine so robust and transparent that regulators use us as the blueprint. You own the outcomes you set the bar for what great looks like and you make sure our greatest competitive advantage is our ability to do difficult things with excellence.

Your First Six Months

  • Month 1-2: You find where manual friction slows us down where controls are missing and where governance doesnt exist yet. You draft the technical requirements to fix it.

  • Month 3-4: You own the rhythm. You ship our regulatory reporting framework and help teams launch new features safely and at high velocity. Youve developed your testing framework and kicked off your first tests to provide the organization with assurance of safety and soundness.

  • Month 5-6: Your encoded requirements and assurance checks are what let the product team move fast with confidence. Compliance is built into how we ship. Youre still finding more to automate.

  • You struggle to distill 50-page regulatory updates into short actionable bullet points for a product manager.

  • You prefer managing vendors junior employees and high-level strategy over hands-on execution.

Hard Requirements

  • 5 years of regulatory compliance experience specifically involved with US banks or mature fintech.

  • Deep working knowledge of Reg E Reg Z the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and GLBA.

  • Direct experience developing drafting and operating compliance policies assurance testing and risk assessments.

  • Based in New York City or the Dallas area or willing to relocate.

Pay transparency:

Compensation packages at Augustus include base salary equity and benefits. New hire offers are made based on a candidates experience expertise and geographic location. The annual US base salary range for this role is $150000-$200000 equity.
