Parks Maintenance Laborer (Full-Time)

JOB SUMMARY: The Park Maintenance candidate is a responsible hard-working and knowledgeable person who will tend to the upkeep of the Park Districts parks and facilities. General park maintenance includes operation of equipment used for mowing landscaping and snow removal as well as athletic field maintenance playground inspection and repair turf care custodial duties event set-ups and supervision of part time and seasonal employees.

LOCATION:Maintenance Garage 16801 S. 80th Ave. Tinley Park

QUALIFICATIONS: The qualified individual should have a high school diploma or equivalent. 2 years of experience in grounds maintenance park and/or landscape maintenance is preferred. Working knowledge of the operation and use of specialized and heavy motor equipment used in general construction and maintenance activities is required along with a basic understanding of hand tools carpentry painting electrical and plumbing. The qualified individual must hold a valid clean drivers license at all times. Possession of an Illinois Pesticide Operators License is required within 6 months of hire date as well as a CPR certification. A mandatory physical drug screening and criminal background check are required prior to employment.

INCENTIVES: This full-time position requires flexibility to work some weekend evening and overtime hours. Pay rate begins at $20.00 per hour.
