Bachelors degree in business supply chain engineering or related discipline or equivalent relevant work experience
Typically seven (7) or more years of progressive procurement experience
Demonstrated experience supporting mining oil and gas or large industrial projects
Proven experience purchasing engineered equipment bulk materials and longlead items
Ability to work independently exercise sound commercial judgment and manage competing priorities in a complex project environment
Valid drivers license and ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting large capital projects or EPC/EPCM project environments
Experience with remote site execution and longlead procurement strategies
Experience working in Alaska or other logisticsconstrained project environments
Familiarity with Alaska markets vendors and regional supply chain considerations
Familiarity with Alaska Native Corporations and experience engaging ANCaffiliated suppliers on Alaska projects

Job Purpose:
The Senior Buyer leads complex procurement activities for engineered and non-engineered materials equipment and services required during early works planning and execution readiness. This role is critical to managing long-lead procurement supplier engagement and commercial risk for a large remote Alaska mining development operating within significant logistical seasonal and regulatory constraints.
The Senior Buyer is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy exercise sound commercial judgment and act as a procurement subject matter expert for project-specific supply chain challenges. The position reports to the Alaska Supply Chain Manager and works closely with project management engineering contracts logistics quality and expediting teams.
This is a full-time non-rotational position located at the Worley Alaska Inc. Anchorage main office with potential for limited travel to Project Site. Hiring for this role is contingent upon award of the project and final client approval.
Essential Job Functions:
Procurement Planning and Execution
Support development and execution of the project procurement strategy with emphasis on long-lead and critical equipment
Review and validate requisitions for completeness technical alignment logistics assumptions and commercial clarity
Lead development and issuance of complex RFQs and RFPs for engineered equipment services and supply packages
Identify prequalify and evaluate suppliers with consideration for Alaska capability remote delivery constraints and execution risk
Analyze bids and proposals for commercial compliance total landed cost schedule risk quality requirements and contractual alignment
Prepare detailed commercial evaluations and recommendations for internal and client approvals
Develop and issue purchase orders in accordance with authorization limits project governance and Worley procedures
Supplier and Risk Management
Lead commercial discussions and negotiations to optimize cost delivery and risk allocation
Establish strong working relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors supporting the project scope
Identify supply chain risks related to manufacturability logistics seasonal access and transportation windows and support mitigation planning
Coordinate with expediting and quality teams to support execution of long-lead procurements
Support resolution of supplier performance commercial and contractual issues
Logistics and Remote Site Considerations
Work closely with Transportation and Logistics personnel to ensure procurement activities are aligned with approved project logistics plans and seasonal access constraints
Incorporate logistics requirements and assumptions provided by the project into RFQs commercial evaluations and supplier delivery commitments
Assess the impact of transportation constraints on pricing delivery schedules packaging and commercial risk during supplier evaluations
Ensure purchase order terms appropriately reflect logistics responsibilities delivery points and schedule expectations
Support logistics and expediting teams by providing timely procurement information for staging shipment planning and execution readiness
Project Interface and Systems
Interface with engineering construction contracts project controls quality logistics and accounts payable teams
Maintain accurate auditable procurement records within Worley systems
Update procurement plans buyer logs and status reports to reflect schedule risk and budget impacts
Provide procurement input to estimating schedule development and execution readiness activities
Leadership and Functional Support
Act as Lead Buyer for assigned packages or scopes as required
Provide guidance and mentoring to intermediate and junior buyers supporting the project
Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and project-specific procedures
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of procurement and commercial practices supporting largescale mining industrial or major capital projects
Strong experience with engineered equipment bulk materials and longlead procurement in complex project environments
Demonstrated ability to manage commercial schedule and supply risk in remote and logisticsconstrained project environments
Experience working in Alaska markets including familiarity with local vendors and Arctic or subArctic logistics considerations
Familiarity with Alaska Native Corporations and experience engaging ANCaffiliated suppliers on Alaska projects is strongly preferred
Proven ability to work independently make sound commercial decisions and manage competing priorities in a scheduledriven execution environment
Ability to plan and execute work of varied complexity under minimal supervision identify issues and escalate risks appropriately
Strong analytical negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional solutionoriented approach
Strong written verbal interpersonal and developing leadership skills consistent with Worley standards
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams suppliers and client representatives

Strong understanding of systems processes and tools related to procurement and materials management with the ability to assist others and troubleshoot issues
Ability to quickly learn and effectively use Worley procurement and materials management systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related project execution tools
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation governance and process compliance
Demonstrated adherence to established safety policies and procedures
