Job Summary
Summary: Welds metal components together with MIG and TIG equipment to fabricate or repair products made from sheet metal both Stainless steel and mild steel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs welding operations on a wide range of metals and thicknesses
- Involves precision assemblies involving a considerable amount of welding to high strength
- Regulates current and voltage from proper penetration and fusion of metals selects electrode type and size.
- Considerable skill required to fuse dissimilar metals obtain maximum weld strength and avoid distortion.
- Skilled with MIG and TIG welding equipment.
- Can plan work from drawings or other specifications.
- Reports materials equipment or process problems to supervisor.
- Perform any variety of operations within the department to maintain workflow.
- Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other similar or related duties as required or directed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Education/Experience:
Technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee is frequently required to walk; sit talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
Communication Skills:
The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills particularly in English. While Spanish language skills are a plus they are not mandatory for this position. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos.
