Work Arrangement:
This role is categorized as Onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Oshawa Assembly Plant five times per week at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Role:
As a Production Group Leader the individualis responsible forsupervising a group of employees involved in production or operations. The groupis responsible forquality products in a safe andtimelymanner! Also the Co-Op student willbe responsible forreducing costseliminatingwaste and improving safety practices. Together with other Group Leaders you are part of a team supporting businessobjectives andmaintainingoperationat a world-class level! Some of the problem-solving work is of a technical nature. This type of work requires the ability to maketimelydecisions within specified limits thatthe individual can effectively cope with change and can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.
Furthermore the Production Group Leader can expect tobe collaboratingoninnovationchallengesinteractingwith industry leaders attending professional trade events and volunteering for community service activities.
Several departments currently have openings for a Production Group Leader including General Assembly Paint Sub-Assembly Stamping and Quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise hourly represented employees in a unionized environment
Implement Health & Safety laws and promote a safe work environment
Ensure quality levels aremaintainedand improved every day
Maintain and exceed efficiency levels through continuous improvements
Effective use of personnelmaterialand equipment
Align with terms of local and nationallabouragreements
Maintain department records and complete various administrative tasks
Supervise and achieve business planobjectivesand targets
Shift rotations and flexibleto workweekends and overtime asrequired
Required Qualifications:
Pursuit of a Bachelors Degree (3rd or 4th year) in Computer Science Engineering (Computer Mechatronics Mechanical Electrical Manufacturing Automotive Engineering Software Engineering or equivalent) Supply Chain Business Commerce
Eligible to work full-time (40 hoursper week) in Canada and for 8 or 12 months (consecutive semesters) starting September 2026
Willing to work in a plant environment and flexible hours (shift work weekends and overtime) to meet business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior manufacturing experience knowledge of production environments and in automotive industry are considered assets
Previoussupervisory or team leading experience
Desired Skills:
Outstanding leadership interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience
High levelof integrity ability to deal with ambiguity takes initiative/self-directed
Evidence of strong character with integrity honestyaccountabilityand trust
Consistentlydemonstratesinnovative thinking that is customer-centric
Excellent project management skills and the proven ability to managenumerousprojects at any given
Possess strong organizational problem-solving and analytical skills
Fundamental digital literacy including understanding of MS Word Excel Access and PowerPoint.
The salary range for this role is $4264- $4784 CAD. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
