Work Arrangement:

This role is categorized as Onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Oshawa Assembly Plant five times per week at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Role:

As the Maintenance Group Leader youare responsible foroperations maintenance and repair of plant equipment! You may lead all aspects of a medium size group of employees in a skilled area of work which requires making decisions based on establishedprocedure. Also work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of the Global Manufacturing System (GMS);focusing on Safety People Quality Responsiveness Cost and Environment (SPQRCE)!

Several departments currently have openings for aMaintenanceGroup Leader including General AssemblyBodyand Paint.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will conductappropriate checksand tests and communicate evaluation of results

  • Recommendations forsolutions to problems

  • Responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions

  • Meets schedule and quality requirements

  • Aligns with the terms of local and nationallabouragreements

  • Implements divisional and corporate policies and safety and good housekeeping practices

  • Maintain frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work group

  • Responsible for the effective use of personnel material and equipment

  • Establishes a course of action toaccomplishcompletion of the job and/or project and the knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop a proactive safety culture by engaging team members and peers in our safety processes

  • Understoodand effective use of GMS

  • Complete safety incident investigations and develop permanent corrective action

  • Provide Leadership to Skilled Trades and provide supervision and direction to contractors whenrequired

  • Manage Equipment issues and Equipment Breakdowns and develop permanent corrective action

  • Develop improvements to standard tasks using SOPs STSs Maximo and Task Instruction Sheets

  • Lead/Participatein continuous improvement events

  • Actively support Departmental meetings (Safety TIP Qualityetc)

  • Support Production department in organizational change events

  • Handle staffing levels for your Group

  • Create new PMs Maintenance PM process and PM scrubbing

  • New employee orientation

RequiredQualifications:

  • Pursuit of aBachelorsDegreeinone of the following areasEngineering (Computer Mechatronics Mechanical Electrical Manufacturing Automotive Engineering ChemicalSoftware Engineering or equivalent) or Computer Science

  • Eligible to work full-time (40 hoursper week) in Canada and for 8 or 12 month term (consecutive semesters) starting September 2026

  • Willing to work in a plant environment and flexible hours (shift work weekends and overtime) to meet business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior manufacturing experience knowledge of production environments and in automotive industry are considered assets

  • Previoussupervisory or team leading experience

Desired Skills:

  • Outstanding leadership interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience

  • High levelof integrity ability to deal with ambiguity takes initiative/self-directed

  • Evidence of strong character with integrity honestyaccountabilityand trust

  • Consistentlydemonstratesinnovative thinking that is customer-centric

  • Excellent project management skills and the proven ability to managenumerousprojects at any given

  • Possess strong organizational problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Fundamental digital literacy including understanding of MS Word Excel Access and PowerPoint

The salary range for this role is $4264- $4784 CAD. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
