Vacancy Status: This job posting is for an existing vacancy. This is a full-time contract position until March 31 2027.

What do you offer

The Employment and Newcomer Services Outreach and Communications Support Worker plays a key role in supporting the promotion outreach and communication efforts of all employment and newcomer programs. This position ensures that programs reach and engage diverse communities by developing outreach materials managing communications and assisting with engagement initiatives. The role involves close collaboration with program teams to enhance visibility strengthen community partnerships and support participant engagement.

Some of the tasks of this position include:

  • Assisting in the development and distribution of outreach materials to promote employment and newcomer programs.
  • Supporting communication efforts by managing social media updates newsletters and website content for all employment and newcomer programs.
  • Helping coordinate outreach activities including community events information sessions and partner engagement.
  • Assisting in tracking outreach efforts and gathering feedback to improve engagement strategies.
  • Providing administrative support to ensure smooth communication between program teams clients and stakeholders.
  • Capture and communicate impactful stories from clients partners and programs (e.g. success stories testimonials event highlights) to promote services increase engagement and demonstrate program outcomes.

What qualifications and abilities are we looking for

The successful candidate will have the following:

Education

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent in a related field (e.g. communications marketing social services)

Language

  • Fluent in English French and other languages considered an asset
  • Bilingual in English and French is essential

Experience Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in outreach and community engagement
  • Experience managing social media content creation and digital communicationsto enhance program visibility
  • Experience working with diverse communities particularly newcomers
  • Knowledge of employment services and/or newcomer programs
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other digital communication tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills is essential
  • High level of judgment
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of activities outcomes and evaluation data

Additional Requirements:

  • Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
  • Applicants must have reliable access to a vehicle for transportation to outreach events.
  • A Police Record check not more than 6 months old is Records checks are reviewed on an individual basis and the offense(s) - if any - is considered in the decision-making process in relation to the requirement of working with children therefore not eliminating all candidates with a record from being offered a position.
  • Annually staff must complete the mandatory training for the protection of Children & Youth and submit the certificate of completion.
