Instructional System Specialist

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Location

This position is on site at Center for Information Warfare Training (CIWT) on-board Naval Station Corey Station Pensacola FL.

Objective

Instructional Systems Specialists are responsible for the administration and supervision of educational or training services in formal education and training programs in support of customer and program objectives. Qualified candidates should be local to Pensacola FL or surrounding areas to be considered for this position.

Job Description

Administers supervises advises on designs develops or provides educational or training services in formal education or training programs.

The work requires knowledge of learning theory and the principles methods practices and techniques of one or more specialties of the instructional systems field.

The work may require knowledge of one or more subjects or occupations in which educational or training instruction is provided.

The work requires experience with the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) model in developing new and/or revised instructional materials.

Select instructional media materials and equipment best suited to meet learning objectives.

Plan and accomplish production of all instructional materials.

Identify the relationship between training deficiencies and training system modification requirements.

Additional duties as assigned.

Employment Status

Full-time (40 hours per week). Salaried. Exempt.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in education psychology or instructional system design/analysis or similar technical degree.

• 5 years experience in instructional systems analysis design and development.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
• Written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read interpret organize and synthesize source material into well-written concise learning products.
• Proficient with the Authoring Instructional Material (AIM) II
• Familiar using content management systems Content Planning Module (CPM) learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Assessment Systems (LAS).
• Ability to apply Integrated Learning Environment (ILE) ILT and IMI principles and guidelines for the design and development of training products.
• Experience in learning theories such as:
  • Instructional System Design (ADDIE or similar)
  • Andragogy-Learning strategies focused on adults
  • Blooms Taxonomy-Classification of learning objectives within education
  • Gagnes Nine Events of Instruction-An instructional design model put together by Robert Gagne
  • Collaborative Constructivist Learning-Sociological theory of knowledge that applies the general philosophical constructionism into social settings
  • Problem-based Learning-Student centered pedagogy in which students learn about a subject in the context of complex multifaceted and realistic problems
  • Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning-Encompasses several principles of learning with multimedia
  • Discovery Learning-Participant will gather data and make determinations based on case study information.

Work Environment and Travel

• This position is on site at Center for Information Warfare Training (CIWT) on-board Naval Station Corey Station Pensacola FL. Qualified candidates should be local to Naval Air Station Pensacola FL to be considered for this position.
• Ability to lift items and/or equipment up to 50 lbs. on limited occasions.
• Travel up to 10% anticipated.
