Job Summary
Role: Senior Legal Counsel (Corporate & Commercial)
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Law Degree (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD)
Master’s degree in Business Law Governance or Compliance is an advantage
8 to 10 years’ experience in a similar or related field
Experience in corporate governance compliance investment sectors or reputable international law firms
Strong focus on corporate governance
Minimum 3 years supporting commercial and corporate functions within finance investment or compliance environments
Knowledge in:
Intellectual Property Law
Corporate Law
Due Diligence
Corporate Governance
Legal Documentation
Procurement
Transactional and M&A contracts
Strong understanding of financial instruments investment strategies and corporate governance best practices
Arabic speaker preferred
Job Purpose:
Draft review and support negotiations of corporate commercial and M&A agreements
Lead corporate governance initiatives developing and implementing policies and procedures
Ensure legal compliance and due diligence in all investment and financial activities
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the corporate compliance framework
Provide legal expertise on corporate transactions and commercial agreements
Monitor activities to ensure adherence to corporate governance and compliance standards
Roles and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Chief of Legal in shaping legal strategy and objectives
Participate in legal department strategy and monitor execution
Support budgeting and expenditure efficiency within the legal function
Develop robust corporate and commercial contract terms aligned with regulations and best practices
Build and maintain stakeholder relationships
Develop and standardize contract templates to protect organizational interests
Oversee legal matters and implement preventive risk mitigation measures
