Firewall Engineer

Pay rate $70 75/hr

Responsibilities:

• Design implement and manage enterprise firewall infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments
• Monitor and analyze network traffic to identify and respond to security threats intrusions and policy violations
• Develop maintain and enforce firewall rule sets access control lists (ACLs) and security policies in alignment with business requirements
• Perform regular firewall audits vulnerability assessments and rule base reviews to ensure compliance and minimize attack surface
• Collaborate with network security and IT teams to troubleshoot connectivity issues and implement secure network segmentation
• Maintain documentation for firewall configurations change management processes and incident response procedures
• Evaluate and recommend new firewall technologies tools and best practices to continuously improve the security posture

Qualifications:

• 3 5 years of experience managing enterprise firewalls (e.g. Palo Alto Networks Fortinet Cisco ASA/Firepower Check Point)
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals - TCP/IP VPNs NAT routing protocols and DNS
• Familiarity with zero-trust architecture network segmentation and micro-segmentation strategies
• Experience with SIEM tools and log analysis for threat detection and incident response
• Relevant certifications preferred (PCNSE CCNP Security NSE CCSA or equivalent)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond effectively under pressure
