Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver
Position SummaryThe Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting freight across regional and long-distance routes while ensuring timely deliveries and compliance with all transportation regulations. This position requires a dependable safety-focused professional who can operate commercial vehicles efficiently and maintain excellent customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a commercial tractor-trailer to transport freight safely and efficiently
- Perform pre-trip in-route and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of loads according to schedules
- Maintain accurate logs trip records fuel receipts and delivery documentation
- Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) FMCSA and company safety regulations
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transport
- Communicate regularly with dispatch regarding load status delays or issues
- Report vehicle maintenance needs accidents or safety concerns promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned equipment
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers and shipping/receiving personnel
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver s License (CDL)
- 2 years Driving Experience
- Clean driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements
- Current DOT medical card
- Minimum of X months/years of OTR driving experience preferred
- Ability to operate manual and/or automatic transmission vehicles
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Good time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to navigate using GPS maps and electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Extended periods of driving and travel
- Overnight and multi-day trips required
- Exposure to varying weather and road conditions
