Position Title

Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver

Position Summary

The Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting freight across regional and long-distance routes while ensuring timely deliveries and compliance with all transportation regulations. This position requires a dependable safety-focused professional who can operate commercial vehicles efficiently and maintain excellent customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a commercial tractor-trailer to transport freight safely and efficiently
  • Perform pre-trip in-route and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery of loads according to schedules
  • Maintain accurate logs trip records fuel receipts and delivery documentation
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) FMCSA and company safety regulations
  • Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transport
  • Communicate regularly with dispatch regarding load status delays or issues
  • Report vehicle maintenance needs accidents or safety concerns promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned equipment
  • Provide professional and courteous service to customers and shipping/receiving personnel
Qualifications
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver s License (CDL)
  • 2 years Driving Experience
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements
  • Current DOT medical card
  • Minimum of X months/years of OTR driving experience preferred
  • Ability to operate manual and/or automatic transmission vehicles
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check

  • Good time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to navigate using GPS maps and electronic logging devices (ELDs)
  • Physical ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Work Environment
  • Extended periods of driving and travel
  • Overnight and multi-day trips required
  • Exposure to varying weather and road conditions
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed
