Job Description

Main Purpose of the Role:

As an Insurance Claims Officer you will investigate liability claims assess legal responsibility manage personal injury/property/highways claims and negotiate settlements while ensuring compliance with Ministry of Justice Civil Procedure Rules.

Candidate Responsibilities:

Investigate insurance and legal liability claims
Determine claim acceptance or denial
Handle personal injury property housing and highways claims
Use MOJ claims portal
Collect evidence and documentation
Prepare witness statements
Negotiate settlements with solicitors/legal representatives
Attend court hearings where required
Work with external solicitors and barristers
Maintain claims databases
Process claim-related payments
Ensure regulatory/legal compliance
Support stakeholder reporting and presentations

Required Skills:

Essential:

A-Level education
Minimum 5 GCSEs (Maths & English)
Law degree OR equivalent legal/claims experience
Strong communication skills
IT proficiency
Investigation and negotiation abilities
Ability to work under pressure
Deadline management
Interest in law/tort law
