Job Description:
Insurance defense law firm is seeking a Coverage and Legal Writing Attorney with exceptional analytical and writing skills. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys deep legal analysis complex case evaluations and crafting high-level legal documents. The ideal candidate will support our litigation team by providing strategic legal insight and producing high-quality work product across a broad range of matters including premises liability personal injury workers compensation auto claims and maritime law.
This position will play a key role in preparing coverage opinions dispositive motions settlement agreements trial and appellate briefs and detailed case evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and analyze insurance coverage opinions reservation of rights letters and denial letters.
- Prepare dispositive motions (motions to dismiss motions for summary judgment) and supporting memoranda.
- Assist with strategic case evaluations including liability and damages assessments.
- Draft review and revise settlement agreements releases and related documentation.
- Conduct legal research and prepare complex legal memoranda and trial or appellate briefs.
- Collaborate with trial attorneys to develop litigation strategies.
- Monitor legal developments and prepare updates or alerts for internal and client use.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing with The Florida Bar.
- 2 years of legal experience preferred; coverage and/or litigation writing experience a plus.
- Strong legal writing analytical thinking and research skills are required.
- Ability to manage deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with CGL auto maritime and workers compensation insurance policies.
- Experience drafting summary judgment motions coverage letters and legal memoranda.
- Background in appellate work law review or judicial clerkship a plus.
