Schedule
- 4 shifts per week
- 10-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Approx. 38 hours/week (9.5 hours/day average)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Wound Care to support a high-volume acute care setting in New York City. The RN will provide advanced wound ostomy and continence care focusing on prevention treatment patient education and interdisciplinary coordination.
This role involves direct patient assessment development of care plans and collaboration with clinical teams to ensure optimal wound healing outcomes and quality care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct wound ostomy and continence-focused health assessments
- Perform physical assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Assess and document patient response to wound care treatments
- Recommend appropriate medications treatments and interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and make referrals as needed
- Provide patient and family education on wound prevention and care management
- Evaluate and improve wound care standards and clinical practices
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives (incidence & prevalence studies)
- Support staff education and clinical training programs
- Identify high-risk patients and initiate preventive measures for pressure injuries
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with hospital policies
- Manage specialty wound care equipment and resources
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) required
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg experience
- Wound care and colostomy experience required
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- One wound care certification required (CWCN / CWOCN / CWON / CWS / WCC)
- Strong clinical documentation and assessment skills
