ROLE PURPOSE:
The Project Officer supports the effective field level implementation of the ECHO funded disaster risk reduction (DRR) and anticipatory action project in Southern Thailand. Working under the supervision of the Project Coordinator the role is responsible for day-to-day coordination activity implementation partner follow up monitoring and reporting at assigned locations. The position works closely with local partners communities schools and provincial authorities including DDPM to ensure timely delivery of project activities compliance with Save the Children and donor requirements and adherence to child safeguarding standards.

Role Dimensions:Based in Pattani the Project Officer works closely with the Project Coordinator in the delivery of an ECHOfunded DRR and anticipatory action project in Southern Thailand. The role coordinates with district provincial national stakeholders including DDPM and Save the Children regional teams.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Project Management
- Ensure project inputs supplies and materials are procured and delivered in a timely manner to support planned activities.
- Support daytoday implementation of project activities at assigned locations ensuring workplans and timelines are followed.
- Work closely with local implementing partners to coordinate implement and monitor project activities including communitybased DRR emergency simulations drills and anticipatory action activities.
- Assist the Project Coordinator in coordinating with local authorities and stakeholders including subdistrict offices district offices and relevant provincial departments.
- Maintain close collaboration with provincial DDPM to support the development testing and followup of anticipatory action (AA) triggers SOPs and preparedness actions at local level.
Project Management Support and Compliance
- Support the Project Coordinator in developing updating and maintaining project management tools including workplans risk registers and activity trackers.
- Provide monthly updates to project management tools including PRIME entries MEAL trackers and other required internal systems.
- Ensure optimal use of project resources at assigned locations and that expenditure complies with Save the Children financial procedures internal controls and donor requirements.
- Keep accurate and uptodate records of activities attendance assessments and field documentation.
- Support adherence to Child Safeguarding and ChildSafe Programming standards in all project activities and partnerled interventions.
Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning
- Work closely with the MEAL team to support routine monitoring data collection verification and documentation of indicators at field level.
- Support baseline progress monitoring endline assessments and project evaluations as required.
- Contribute to reflection on implementation challenges lessons learned and good practices particularly related to DRR preparedness and anticipatory action.
- Promote accountability to affected populations by ensuring community feedback and concerns are collected and shared with the Project Coordinator and MEAL team.
Reporting and Communication
- Prepare regular activity updates and field reports with analysis and recommendations submitting them in a timely manner to the Project Coordinator.
- Support periodic donor and internal reporting through provision of accurate field data activity summaries and case examples.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including meeting minutes training reports photos (with consent) and lessons learned materials.
- Ensure projectrelated information is clearly communicated to implementing partners and local stakeholders.
Field Coordination and Representation
- Maintain close coordination with local authorities particularly relevant provincial and districtlevel government departments including DDPM.
- Coordinate regularly with sector leads and field staff from other organizations to support harmonized implementation and information sharing.
- Represent Save the Children professionally in fieldlevel meetings and coordination forums as delegated by the Project Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Thai Nationality
- Bachelors degree in subject related to thematic area (social sciences International Relations community development psychology child development)
- Good understanding on child rights issues in Thailand and the Deep South with sound knowledge of international standard of child rights and child protection
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
- University degree in social sciences disaster management development studies or a related field.
- Minimum 23 years of experience in humanitarian response DRR emergency preparedness or communitybased development programming.
- Experience working with local partners government authorities and communities at field level.
- Familiarity with DRR preparedness early warning or anticipatory action programming is an asset.
- Understanding of child safeguarding accountability and communitybased approaches.
- Experience with monitoring and reporting including working with MEAL tools and databases.
- Experience in coordinating with community leaders CSOs actors and Government agencies.
- Strong interpersonal and community development skills
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically as assigned including in the Deep South
